LG sells 15 US image patents to Honor as IP monetization expands

LG Electronics has transferred 15 US image-related standard essential patents to Honor in late August 2026, according to South Korean media reports citing US Patent and Trademark Office records. The deal extends LG's strategy of monetizing communications and video technology assets following its exit from the smartphone market in 2021.
