Taiwan's Gemtek to help Dixon enter data center market through Indian optics venture

Taiwan's Gemtek Technology is set to provide the optical know-how behind Dixon Technologies' move into the data center market. The Indian contract manufacturer signed a joint venture agreement with Gemtek on October 7 to make optical transceivers in India and said in a filing with the BSE and the National Stock Exchange of India that the deal is expected to let it enter the data center, telecom, and optical-connectivity ecosystem by combining its large-scale manufacturing with Gemtek's expertise in high-speed optical modules, telecom infrastructure, and networking.
