Taiwan GDP growth hits 11% as government plan for AI dividend advances

AI / LLMSemiconductorsData Center
Taiwan's gross domestic product (GDP) growth is projected to reach 11.05% in 2026, a 39-year high, driven by its technological advantage in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and high-performance computing (HPC), and boosting government tax revenue. US$313) in cash handouts to the public via an "AI dividend" with the first recipients potentially receiving payments as early as January 26, 2027, before the Lunar New Year, subject to budget approval.
