Samsung SDS to build AI-ready network for Seoul National University

Seoul National University is preparing to overhaul its campus network in a project designed to support large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) research and move the university toward an AI-native campus. Samsung SDS said it won the project to transform the university’s network platform, covering 243 buildings and serving about 50,000 students, faculty members and staff. The new infrastructure will provide network speeds of up to 800 gigabits per second, allowing large volumes of data used in AI research and education to move more quickly across the campus. The project will also introduce logical network segmentation to strengthen security and network automation to improve operational efficiency. For students, the upgraded system is intended to provide more stable connectivity in classrooms, laboratories and libraries while reducing slowdowns and interruptions.
